GENEVA, March 22. /TASS/. United Nations envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said on Tuesday he will announce the date for the beginning of another round of intra-Syrian peace consultations on March 24, the final day of the current round.
Initially, it was planned to launch the next round of talks on April 4-5 but later there were initiatives to postponed it to a later day after parliamentary polls in Syria due to be held on April 13.
Syria’s opposition High Negotiations Committee (HNC) said earlier on Tuesday it will return to Geneva for another round of intra-Syrian discussions on April 4, or even earlier than that day. It said it will not wait for elections in Syria on April 13.
