Iran preparing to send commandos, snipers to Iraq, Syria - military official

The first group of commandos and snipers already undergo training for the purpose and Iran might decide on sending them to Iraq and Syria in the near future

TEHRAN, March 17. /TASS/. Iran is preparing to send its snipers and commandos as military advisers to the war-torn Iraq and Syria, a senior military official told reporters in Tehran on Wednesday.

"At some point we might decide to use our commandos and snipers as military advisers in Iraq and Syria," the Fars news agency quoted Deputy Chief Liaison of the Army's Ground Force General Ali Arasteh as saying.

The first group of commandos and snipers already undergo training for the purpose and Iran might decide on sending them to Iraq and Syria in the near future, the official said.

Tehran is providing Iraq and Syria with military advisory and humanitarian assistance in their fight against terrorist groups.
