MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Air defense forces of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) militia have downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of Ukrainian forces that was conducting reconnaissance of LPR checkpoints and military units, LPR people’s militia official spokesman Maj. Andrey Marochko said on Tuesday.
"At 8:47pm on Monday, near the settlement of Alexandrovsk, LPR people’s militia air defense forces downed an unmanned aerial vehicle of Ukrainian Armed Forces flying in the 8-kilometer zone from the contact line and conducting reconnaissance of our positions," Lugansk Inform Center quoted Marochko as saying.
In late January, LPR militia representative Igor Yaschenko said that Ukrainian force intensified their reconnaissance activities near the contact line with the use of UAVs. Two Ukrainian UAVs were spotted near the Schastye settlement then.
