BEIJING, March 14. /TASS/. China supports the soonest resumption of Geneva peace talks on Syria, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Lu Kang said on Monday.
"Dialogue and peace negotiations are the only way of resolving the crisis in Syria. We support the soonest resumption of peace talks in Geneva and achievement of new results," Lu said. "We hope that representatives of the opposition and authorities will meet in advance and agree on a solution as soon as possible," he added.
"We will continue joint work with the international community and play the necessary part in the political settlement of the Syrian crisis," Lu concluded.
The second round of peace talks on Syria starts Geneva today.
