BERLIN, March 8. /TASS/. The world community needs Russia to solve global crises, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in an interview published by the General-Anzeiger daily on Tuesday.

"During the Cold War there were sometimes no contacts at all between the East and the West. However, now we have lots of floors to exchange opinions," Steinmeier said. "We need them, taking into account an unbelievable number of crises throughout the world. If we wish it or not."

"The reality is such that without Russia we could have been unable neither to move ahead in talks on the political solution in Syria, nor in implementation of the Minsk accords on Ukraine," he said. "Without Russia, there could not have been any nuclear deal with Iran. It means that if we want decisions, we need Russia.".
