MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. A source in the law enforcement agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Wednesday that the northern suburbs of Donetsk and Gorlovka were shelled at night.
"Last night, the Ukrainian military shelled the part of Zaitsevo and Zhabichevo villages controlled by DPR, the airport and Volvo Center in the northern suburbs of Gorlovka and Donetsk," Donetsk News Agency quotes the source as saying.
According to the source, the Ukrainian armed forces were shelling DPR territory from their positions in Zhovanka, Peski and Opytnoye settlements. "A total of 25 82-mm mortar shells and five 120-mm mortar shells have been fired by the Ukrainian side," he said.
Besides, the northern suburbs of Donetsk have been shelled from infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.
Earlier reports said that the Ukrainian military had been shelling Spartak village located in the northern suburbs of Donetsk throughout the night.
