UNITED NATIONS, February 20. /TASS/. Moldova has nominated former Minister of Foreigs Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman to the post of UN Secretary General, according to the official letter published on Friday on an official website of President of the 70th session of UN General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft.
Gherman thus becomes the sixth candidate for the post of UN secretary general. Among her rivals now are UNSECO Director General Irina Bokova, Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic, Montenegrin Foreign Minister Igor Luksic, former Macedonian Foreign Minister Srdjan Kerim and former Slovenian President Danilo Turk.
