BEIRUT, February 17. /TASS/. Syria's President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree announcing an amnesty for those who deserted the army before February 17, 2016, the national SANA news agency said on Wednesday.
The decree, announced by the news agency, said that the law would apply to the military deserters outside and inside Syria who violated the country’s military law before February 17, 2016 and would not apply to those who are under investigation or fled from arrest.
The presidential decree has come into force after publication.
