KIEV, February 16. /TASS/. Demonstrators have gathered for protests in 10 Ukrainian cities to demand resignation of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Local media reported that demonstrations are being held in Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Poltava, Khmelnitsky, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Ternopol and Lutsk. Protesters are waving flags of "Svoboda" (Freedom) nationalist party and banners saying: "Marauder premier - to tribunal," "Marauder premier should go," "Yatsenyuk’s government — puppet of oligarchs."
More than 1,000 people have also gathered near the Verkhovna Rada building in Kiev to demand the resignation of Yatsenyuk. Among participants in the demonstration are representatives of the "Svoboda" party and "Party of Ordinary People." Activists are waving flags of Ukraine and the Right Sector extremist organization banned in Russia, as well as banners saying: "Government should resign!", "Yatsenyuk should go to prison!", "Stolen millions should be returned to budget!".
Yatsenyuk is expected to deliver a report about his government’s activities at the Verkhovna Rada today. The Petro Porosheko Bloc’s faction in the Ukrainian parliaments agreed at its yesterday’s session that the work of the Ukrainian cabinet in the past year is "unsatisfactory." The faction will vote for the cabinet’s resignation if there are enough votes in the Verkhovna Rada.
The Samopomich (Self-Assistance), Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) and Radical Party factions have already said they could vote for a complete change of government.
