Militia say LPR positions in Donbass were shelled four times over 24 hours

MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Kiev forces shelled the positions of people’s militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) four times over the past 24 hours, the LPR defense ministry said on Monday.

"The positions near the village of Kalinovka were twice subjected to shelling from the Luganskoye settlement. Fire was opened from infantry fighting vehicles, anti-tank and automatic grenade launchers, mortars of 82mm caliber and heavy machine guns," Lugansk Inform Center quoted the defense ministry as saying.

LPR positions were also shelled by Ukrainian forces near the settlements of Logvinovo and Krasny Liman. "No injuries or damages were reported," the LPR people’s militia said.

At the meeting of the Contact Group on January 13 the sides supported the initiative of Russia’s envoy Boris Gryzlov on ensuring complete ceasefire on the territory of Donbass. This is the seventh attempt to fully observe the ceasefire regime in Ukraine’s south-east. At the recent meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk the participants expressed regret over continuing violations of ceasefire regime in Donbass.

The self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics said that Ukrainian forces violated ceasefire regime 120 times and shelled DPR and LPR territory more than 320 times since December 23 last year.
