Syria Support Group starts consultations in Munich

The International Syria Support Group held its last meeting in Vienna on November 14

MUNICH, February 11 /TASS/. The International Syria Support Group has started consultations in Munich. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is representing Russia.

A Western diplomatic source told TASS that Lavrov, US Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura are expected to give a news conference after the meeting.

The International Syria Support Group held its last meeting in Vienna on November 14. It was attended by delegations of 19 countries, including Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Italy, Egypt, Britain, Germany, Lebanon, Qatar, Iran, France, China, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Oman.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini; U.N. Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura and a League of Arab States (LAS) representative also took part in the consultations.
