At least 100 injured in head-on train collision in Germany, casualties reported — police

According to preliminary data, about 10 passengers were severely injured

BERLIN, February 9. /TASS /. At least 100 people have been injured in the collision between two trains near the town of Bad Aibling in Germany’s Bavaria federal state, fatalities are reported, a spokesman for Rosenheim city police told TASS on Tuesday.

"That was a head-on collision between two trains. At least 100 people were injured, there are also fatalities," the spokesman said.

According to preliminary data, about 10 passengers were severely injured.

Investigators from the neighboring districts have left for the scene, eight helicopters are involved in the rescue operation.

According to incoming reports, several railroad cars of one of the trains derailed.
