Ukrainian forces fire mortar shells at Donetsk suburbs

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces shelled the Donetsk airport, the Zhabichevo village and the Volvo Center outskirts in the northern suburb of Donetsk late on Sunday, a source in the law enforcement agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic has said.

"At around 6.45 p.m. (3.45 p.m. GMT) the Ukrainian side opened fire at the Zhabichevo village, the Volvo Center and the Donetsk airport," the source told the Donetsk news agency.

The Ukrainian forces conducted fire from the positions in the Pesky and Opytnoye villages. The troops used 82-mm mortars and small arms. A total of 10 shells have been fired, according to the source.
