GENEVA, February 1. /TASS/. The new meeting of UN envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura with the delegation of the Syrian government may take place after his consultations with the opposition in Geneva, his press service said on Monday.
The meeting with the government delegation is postponed until the consultations with the opposition as the talks with the opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC) were not held on Sunday evening, the press service said.
De Mistura’s meeting with the opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC) is due to take place at 4 p.m. GMT on Monday at the Palace of Nations in Geneva, the press service said.
The UN envoy is trying to launch indirect intra-Syrian talks in Geneva aimed at putting an end to the five-year war.
