Turkmenistan invites Russian president Putin to pay official visit to Ashgabat

According to the Turkmen leader, there are "many good opportunities and great potential" for bilateral ties

ASHGABAT, January 28. /TASS/. Ashgabat invites Russian President Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said on Thursday at the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"We send our best regards to the leadership of the Russian Federation. We renew our invitation to the Russian president," Berdimuhamedow said.

There are "many good opportunities and great potential" for bilateral ties, the Turkmen leader noted.

"We thank you personally for continuing contacts between our foreign ministries. Your annual visits play a very important role. I would like to stress that agreements between our countries are being implemented, and implemented rather well," Berdimuhamedow concluded.
