US State Department condemns banner in Moscow calling Obama ‘killer’

"Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, no matter where. But we obviously object strongly to the characterization of our president in such a way," the spokesperson told reporters at a briefing

WASHINGTON, January 28. /TASS/. Washington condemns the banner hanging on a building near the US embassy in Moscow labeling US President Barack Obama a "killer," Deputy State Department Spokesperson Mark Toner has said.

"Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, no matter where. But we obviously object strongly to the characterization of our president in such a way," the spokesperson told reporters at a briefing on Wednesday.

An art group Glavplakat took credit for making the banner saying on its website on Wednesday the move came in protest against Washington’s plans to "put boots on the ground" to fight against the Islamic State terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
