MOSCOW, January 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces were shelling Petrovsky District on the western outskirts of Donetsk for three hours last night, head of the district administration Maxim Zhukovsky told Donetsk news agency on Wednesday.

"The shelling lasted for three hours. The greatest intensity was registered between 10 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. Judging by the sound, [the Ukrainian military] used both small arms and heavy machine guns. One militiaman born in 1993, a resident of Petrovsky District, was injured," he said.

Zhukovsky noted that at the moment there no information on destruction and victims among the civilian population.

On January 13, following Contact Group meeting in Minsk, Belarus, the parties urged to comply with the full silence regime, but violations by the Ukrainian side persist. The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said the day before that the Ukrainian armed forces had shelled the DPR territory 11 times, including the settlement of Trudovskiye in Donetsk’s Petrovsky district.
