WASHINGTON, January 17. /TASS/. U.S. President Barack Obama signed decree on lifting a number of US sanctions against Iran. According to the White House, the decision was made because Iran fulfilled requirements under a nuclear program agreement.
"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified Iran fulfilling its obligations, which brought a fundamental change in the situation around its nuclear program," Obama said in a message sent to the United States Congress. In this regard, a number of previous presidential decrees on sanctions against Iran is canceled.
