BEIRUT, December 27. /TASS/. Militants from the Jaysh al-Islam militant group have shelled the refugee camp Al-Wafideen near Damascus and neighborhoods of Dahiyat-Harasta and Dahiyat-Assad, a spokesperson for the Damascus police department said on Sunday.
Nine people were killed and 16 more injured in the shelling, he said. Shells also exploded near the Abbasids Square at Damascus’ eastern gates, injuring two people.
Reports from Aleppo to 360 kilometers from Damascus say that radical groups continue shelling areas controlled by the Syrian army. SANA news agency reported that five people were killed in the Al-Zahraa neighborhood. The area was shelled from positions controlled by the Ahrar al-Sham militant group.
