Lugansk republic appoints new prime minister

Earlier, LPR former prime minister Gennady Tsypkalov asked the republic’s leader Igor Plotnitsky to accept his resignation

MOSCOW, December 26. /TASS/. The parliament of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) has voted for the militia’s Maj Gen Sergey Kozlov as new prime minister, the LuganskInformCentre said on Saturday.

"The people’s council has ruled to approve Sergey Ivanovich Kozlov as LPR Chairman of the Council of Ministers," Speaker Aleksei Karyakin said noting the vote was unanimous.

Earlier, LPR former prime minister Gennady Tsypkalov asked the republic’s leader Igor Plotnitsky to accept his resignation.

In his comments on the new appointment, Plotnitsky called Kozlov a commendable and respected person.
