KALININGRAD, December 25. /TASS/. Russia’s westernmost Kaliningrad region has almost finished the demarcation of the Russia-Lithuania state border, the last frontier post will be installed on December 28, the regional border service told TASS on Friday.
"The ceremony will take place on December 28 at a border check point in the Kaliningrad region's town of Nesterov," the press service said.
Thus, the erection of the 572nd border division post will complete the Russia-Lithuania border demarcation process started in 2006. The border line length nears 286 kilometres.
The Russian Kaliningrad region, surrounded by Poland and Lithuania, has no land connection to the rest of Russia. The border with Poland will be demarked with more than 400 frontier posts, the installment is planned to be completed by the yearend.
