TBILISI, December 23. /TASS/. Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili, who said on Wednesday he was stepping down, and members of his cabinet will perform their functions until a new prime minister and government are approved, Georgian parliamentary Speaker David Usupashvili said on Wednesday.
"In line with Georgia’s Constitution, the prime minister’s resignation means all members of government are dismissed," he said.
"In compliance with the Constitution, the country’s president Georgy Margvelashvili will designate Irakly Garibashvili and its government to exercise their duties and powers in full till the new prime minister and new government are approved," Usupashvili said adding the president would issue a relevant resolution in the coming hours.
