BRUSSELS, December 18. /TASS/. The EU summit has supported toughening of the Schengen border control rules, French President Francois Hollande said on Friday on the results of the first day of the meeting.
The summit has endorsed the proposal of the European Commission (EC) on the introduction of tougher border control and checks personal information with the police databases, he said.
The EC put forward a proposal to introduce mandatory and complete control of all personal data of all the persons crossing the external border of the community, including the EU states’ citizens.
The European Commission insists that all the data without exception must be checked with the databases of criminal police, the anti-terrorism and migration services.
