BEIJING, December 4. /TASS/. Russia’s anti-terrorist operation in Syria is in line with international law, and China has always supported it, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a press briefing on Friday.

"We have always supported the efforts of various countries, including Russia, to ensure international security. As for Russia’s strikes against terrorist organizations in Syria, we have also expressed our support previously and noted that Russia carried out the fight against terrorist organizations in Syria at the invitation of the government of this country," the diplomat said.

"We have always supported anti-terrorist actions, which conform to international law, and also the ones approved by the government of a particular country," Hua Chunying said.

She also said that China had taken note of the annual State of the Nation Address of Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered on Thursday, including of his appeal to the international community to form a joint anti-terrorist coalition with the UN mandate. Hua Chunying noted that China, too, urged the international community to make joint efforts to combat terrorism, to intensify contacts and coordinate actions under UN auspices, and this stance was in harmony with the approach of the Russian side.
