Parliament elected in Moldova's breakaway Transdniestria region

TIRASPOL, November 30. /TASS/. Voters in Moldova’s breakaway unrecognized Transdniestria region, also known as the breakaway unrecognized Dniester Republic, have elected a new convocation of the Supreme Soviet, the regional legislature.

The chief of the region’s Central Electoral Commission, Yelena Gorodetskaya made public a list of forty-three deputies whose election had been confirmed after the processing of all the ballots.

"On the whole, the electoral procedures have been appropriate and citizens showed a high enough rate of activity," she said. "The information we have at our disposal suggests no serious violations have been registered. Quite naturally, we’re also thankful to foreign observers for the remarks they made."

The results of voting will take legal effect after their publication in official sources.
