LONDON, November 18. /TASS/. Laurie Bristow, former director for national security in the UK Foreign Office, has been appointed UK’s new ambassador to Russia, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement on Wednesday.
The 51-year-old diplomat who had worked in Moscow from 2007 to 2010 in the rank of Deputy Head of Mission, will enter upon his duties in January 2016.
"Dr. Laurie Bristow CMG has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation in succession to Sir Tim Barrow KCMG LVO MBE, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Dr. Bristow will take up his appointment during January 2016," the statement said.
