Belgian authorities place armed military guards at Russian embassy’s entrance

Russian diplomats assure, however, that the measure is not linked with whatever threats to the embassy

BRUSSELS, November 12. /TASS/. Belgian authorities have placed armed military guards at the entrance of the Russian embassy. The patrol consists of two servicemen wearing field fatigues and carrying automatic rifles.

Russian diplomats gave the assurances, however, that the measure was not linked with whatever threats to the embassy.

"It’s part and parcel of the authorities’ steps to tighten up security in this city," a spokesman for the mission said.

The embassy continues its routine operations.
