BERLIN, November 6. /TASS/. Elections in Donbas should be held under the Ukrainian law and comply with the norms of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said on Friday after talks with his Normandy Four counterparts.
"It is obvious for us that elections in certain territories of Donbas are to be based first of all on the Ukrainian law and criteria of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR)," he said. That is why it is essential that representatives of international organizations arrive in Minsk to join the relevant working groups."
"The Minsk agreements describe this issue absolutely clear," he said, adding that the elections should be organized and controlled by the Central Election Commission.
Klimkin said another meeting of the Normandy Four foreign ministers is to be held by yearend.
"We have understanding that another ministerial meeting might be held by the yearend," he said. "We have not agreed a concrete date, it will be appointed later."
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said the Normandy Four ministerial meeting might be held within a month.
