BISHKEK, November 3. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee on National Security has detained a Russian citizen for calls for terrorism and extremism, the committee’s press service said on Tuesday.

"During search operations directed at countering terrorism and extremism, a 25-year-old Russian citizen was detained in the Chuyskaya Oblast," the press service said adding that the name of the suspect will not be disclosed in the interests of the investigation. "He was detained for committing a crime outlined by the republic’s criminal code on ‘acquiring, producing, storing distributing, transporting and disseminating extremist materials, and deliberately using symbols and attributes of extremist organizations," the press service added.

During the search, "prohibited propagandistic" photos, videos and other materials "of extremist nature of one of international terrorist organizations" were found and seized.

"The suspect was put under arrest in the framework of launching a criminal case," the press service added.
