BAKU, November 2. /TASS/. Azerbaijan’s ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan) is winning Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections after ballots have been counted in 91% of constituencies, the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC) said.
CEC chief Mazakhir Panakhov said the party of President Ilham Aliyev is gaining at least 70 out of 125 mandates.
Voter turnout totaled 55.7% of the nominal list of voters.
A total of 767 candidates competed for 125 seats in the country’s parliament. More than a half of them represent 15 parties and one bloc uniting seven opposition parties.
