BEIRUT, October 28. /TASS/. The Syrian people are suffering from terrorism, destroyed infrastructure and blockade, President Bashar al-Assad said on Wednesday at a meeting with French parliamentarians in Damascus.
"The sufferings of the Syrian people are connected, firstly, with terrorism and destroyed infrastructure, and, secondly, with the blockade imposed on Syria," Assad said.
"Many countries in the region, including France, do not stop supporting terrorist groups and provide them political cover in Syria and in the whole region," the Syrian president said. He stressed that "terrorist and extremist ideas should be treated like a global tendency and cannot be put in certain framework to prevent them from spreading."
