KIEV, October 25. /TASS/. Kiev’s incumbent Mayor Vitali Klitschko is failing to win mayoral elections in the first round of voting as he is scoring about 40% of votes.
According to exit poll conducted by Special Monitoring, Klitschko is winning 40.4% of the vote. His rivals, Vladimir Bondarenko and Alexander Omelchenko, are winning 8.7% and 8.1%, respectively.
The voter turnout at 18:00 local time (19:00 Moscow time) was about 37%
Thus, Kiev will have a second round of elections, since neither of the candidates are managing to win 50% of votes plus one vote.
