Ukrainian military shelling Donetsk outskirts over six hours

MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Ukrainian military opened fire from mortars and small arms on the village of Spartak near the town of Yasinovataya in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) at 15.00 local time, the Donetsk news agency said on Saturday citing local residents.

‘The shelling started at 15.00," the source said. "Hissing and blasts of mortars along with sounds of a machine gun are still heard."

Ukrainian military have been shelling Spartak from their positions in the nearby village of Opytnoye.

"There have been no casualties as we are hiding," he said.

Spartak is located near the Donetsk airport bordering the contact line. The Yasinovataya authorities and DPR defence ministry have been regularly reporting on violations of the ceasefire by Ukraine’s armed forces.
