KIEV, October 20. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have launched the first stage of the weapons withdrawal in the Donetsk region, the operation headquarters speaker, Leonid Matyukhin, said on Tuesday.
"The withdrawal has started in the Debaltsevo direction, the first tanks have already started moving," he said.
Earlier, the speaker of Ukraine’s General Staff, Vladislav Seleznev, told TASS the process would be held in several stages. The weapons withdrawal with the caliber under 100mm in the Donetsk region is due to be completed by November 12, he said.
The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has also started withdrawing weapons with the calibre under 100mm in the Debaltsevo direction. "The weapons withdrawal is taking place as scheduled," the defense ministry said.
The weapons withdrawal is observed by the representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC).
