UN should have council of world religions leaders — Russia’s supreme mufti

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Russia’s Supreme Mufti Talgat Tajuddin said it is necessary to establish at the United Nations Organisation a council of the world religions’ spiritual leaders.

"I would like to suggest on behalf of the Russian Central Spiritual Department of Muslims organising a council of the world religions’ spiritual leader," he told a conference called Islamic religion against extremism. "The Word of God and the conscience should be heard there, too - at the place where meet diplomats, politicians, and presidents of the UN 193 member countries.".
