BISHKEK, October 4. /TASS/. Six political parties are winning seats in Kyrgyzstan’s next parliament, a spokesman for Kyrgyzstan’s Central Election Commission told TASS on Sunday, citing preliminary results of the parliamentary polls.
The Social Democratic Party is the leader with 26% of the vote. It is followed by Republic - Ata-Zhurt (20.5%), the Kyrgyzstan Party (12.73%), Onuguu (Progress)(9.19%), Bir Bol (8.5%), and Ata-Meken (7.9%).
"Parties which surpass the seven-percent barrier will win parliamentary seats," the spokesman said, adding that by now 99% of ballot papers had been counted.
