BRUSSELS, September 30. /TASS/. North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has welcomed the US-Russia contacts in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, the NATO press service told TASS on Wednesday.
"In his media engagements in New York on the margins of the UNGA, the Secretary General has urged Russia to play a constructive and cooperative role in the fight against ISIL," the press service said. "He has welcomed the US-Russia contacts in this regard. The Secretary General has said that Russian steps to support Assad are not constructive. Assad is part of the problem."
