UNITED NATIONS, September 29. /TASS/. Fighting terrorism and extremism must be a top priority for the international community, Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon said on Tuesday.

"The fight against international terrorism and extremism is a top priority," Rahmon told the United Nations General Assembly, highlighting the need "to develop national, regional and international mechanisms aimed at destroying military infrastructure, channels of financial and material replenishment alongside violence propaganda and agitation, and at countering the use of information and communication technologies for terrorist purposes".

"Strengthening intercultural and interreligious dialogue, mutual trust and tolerance play a particularly important role," Rahmon said.
