MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. The role of President Bashar Assad should be part of any initiative on resolving the Syrian crisis, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said.
"In any initiative, the political approach and the fight against terrorism will be carried out in parallel," he said. "Bashar Assad in any initiative will be part of resolving the crisis."
"We discussed the Syrian problem with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov," the diplomat said.
Russia and Iran "intend to use all their opportunities to resolve the Syrian crisis," he added.
