Donetsk republic says no ceasefire violations on contact line

Subgroups on security and political issues of the Contact Group on settlement of the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine will convene in the Belarussian capital of Minsk on Tuesday

MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. No ceasefire violations have been reported over the past 24 hours in the settlements of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic located on the contact line, local authorities said on Tuesday.

"Everything is quiet and calm, there have been no shellings," the head of Gorlovka, Roman Khamenkov, told the Donetsk news agency. The authorities of Dokuchayevsk, Debaltsevo and Makeyevka also said the situation was calm.

No shellings carried out by Kiev’s forces have been reported over the past 24 hours in Donetsk, according to the heads of local administrations.

The authorities of the Novoazovsky, Yasinovatsky, Telmanovsky, Amvrosieyvsky and Starobeshevsky districts also noted there was "absolute silence" in the settlements near the contact line.

"Ukraine’s forces have not opened fire, we work in a normal regime," the head of Telmanovsky district’s administration, Sergey Ivanov, said.

The Contact Group on resolving the crisis in Donbas agreed at the meeting in Minsk, Belarus, in late August to ensure ceasefire starting from September 1. Over the past few days, only sporadic violations of the "silence regime" have been reported.

However, late on September 4 a local citizen was killed and two others were wounded during the Kiev forces’ shelling of Alexandrovka village in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, the DPR authorities said.
