Ceasefire observed in Donetsk republic over past 24 hours — local administration

It was earlier reported that only two ceasefire violations were registered in the neighsouring self-proclaimed Luhansk republic

MOSCOW, September 9. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have observed the ceasefire regime on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), local administrations told Donetsk News Agency on Wedensday.

"The night was quiet, everything is calm," Donetsk Kuybyshevsky district head Ivan Prikhodko said. No shellings were registered overnight in Kievsky, Petrovsky and Kirovsky districts.

The situation remained calm in the towns of Gorlovka and Makeyevka. "Everything was calm, no shellings or victims," Gorlovka’s mayor’s office said. Heads of administrations of Yasinovatsky, Telmanosky and Novoazovsky districts confirmed that the ceasefire regime was observed.

At the meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk on August 26, the participants confirmed their plans to ensure ceasefire in Donbas by September 1. OSCE’s (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Special Representative in Ukraine Martin Sajdik said that it is necessary for ensuring security at schools along the contact line. Over the last days, only few violations of ceasefire regime were registered in Donbas.
