One ceasefire violation registered in Luhansk over last 24 hours

Militia observers also registered several explosions near the contact line on the Ukrainian side

MOSCOW, September 4. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces violated ceasefire regime on the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk pepublic only once over the past 24 hours, LPR people’s militia said on Friday.

On September 3 at 9pm local time, the positions of the people’s militia in the Zolotoye settlement were shelled from the Popasnoye settlement from a light machine gun. "As a result of the shelling, no victims or damages were registered," Luhansk Inform Center quoted a militiaman as saying.

Militia observers also registered several explosions near the contact line on the Ukrainian side. They were presumably 82mm mines.

At the meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk on August 26, the participants confirmed their plans to ensure ceasefire in Donbas by September 1. OSCE’s (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Special Representative in Ukraine Martin Sajdik said that it is necessary for ensuring security at schools along the contact line. Though minor violations of ceasefire were registered over the last few days, the situation in general has stabilized.
