US drone radar stolen in Ukraine

Two local residents confessed they wanted to take the radar to a scrap metals collection station

KIEV, September 3 /TASS/. A $215,000 radar from a US Air Force drone has been stolen in the Lviv Region in western Ukraine, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry regional department said on Thursday.

"An officer who works at a training center located in the territory of the Yavorovsky testing area reported the loss to a local police station," the department’s press service said.

The source added that police found the thieves and returned the radar back to its place.

Two local residents confessed they wanted to take the radar to a scrap metals collection station, the interior ministry department said.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated. The men are facing from 7 to 12 years in jail with property confiscation.
