Russian national wanted by Interpol detained in Bulgaria

Andrey Koshkin was put on the international wanted list for serious fraud on the basis of the order released by St. Petersburg’s court

SOFIA, August 28. /TASS/. Varna’s district court has arrested for 40 days Russian national Andrey Koshkin wanted by Interpol, Varna’s appellate prosecutor’s office press service said on Friday.

Koshkin, 41, was put on the international wanted list for serious fraud on the basis of the order released by St. Petersburg’s Kuybyshevsky court.

"The Russian authorities announced their intention to extradite Koshkin to Russia for conducting an investigation and a trial," the appellate prosecutor’s office said.

In February 2011, Koshkin artificially inflated prices for repair works of the submarine and its components ordered by the Admiralty in St. Petersburg. The damage stood at around $55,000.

Koshkin, who holds a residence permit in Bulgaria, was detained near Varna on August 25, the prosecutor’s office said.
