MOSCOW, August 28. /TASS/. According to the local defense ministry, 254 shells were fired at the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by Ukrainian forces.
"Ukrainian forces fired 156 mines of 82mm and 120mm caliber at the territory of the republic, along with 68 artillery and 30 tank shells," Donetsk News Agency quoted DPR defense ministry as saying. "Ukrainian Armed Forces violated ceasefire regime 37 times over last 24 hours," the ministry added.
Kiev forces shelled Donetsk (Petrovsky, Kuybyshevsky and Kievsky districts and airport) and the settlements of Yasinovataya, Telmanovo, Belaya Kamenka, Zaichenko, Zhabichevo, Lozovoye and Spartak. "Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at the republic’s settlements from Novoselovka, Kominternovo, Talakovka, Starognatovka, Peski, Opytnoye, Kurakhovo, Vodyanoye, Nevelskoye, Avdeyevka and Maryinka," the defense ministry said.
It was earlier reported that a woman was killed in nightly shellings of the Petrovsky district in Donetsk.
