Gorlovka resident dies in Ukrainian artillery bombardment

According to the local administration, another five people were wounded

MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. A resident of the eastern Ukrainian city of Gorlovka has been killed and five others have been wounded in a massive artillery bombardment of the city center by the Ukrainian army overnight on August 25, the press service of the City Hall reported on Monday.

"According to the Emergencies Ministry of the DPR [Donetsk People’s Republic], the city’s Tsentralno-Gorodskoy district was subjected to a massive artillery bombardment," the City Hall said. "The city’s health department said that one civilian (a woman) had died in the shelling, five others were wounded."

Gorlovka has recently become the "hottest" spot along the line of contact in the Donbas region. According to the Mayor’s Office, 164 civilians were killed there between January and July in the artillery bombardments by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 501 people were wounded. The city saw the greatest number of children’s deaths from shell bursts — 16 in the first six months of 2015.
