France sold $5 mln worth of military products over 9 years — SIPRI

SIPRI does not specify any product titles

MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. The number of actual supplies of military products from France totaled $5 million in 2005-2014, the Stockholm-based International Peace Research Institute said.

SIPRI does not specify any product titles. Its statistics reflect merely the structure of military products provided, but they by no means correspond to the real value of bilateral military-technical cooperation.

Earlier, Rostec corporation’s deputy CEO for foreign economic operations, Dmitry Shugayev, said that Russia was by no means severing military-technical contacts with France in the wake of the disruption of the contract for Mistral helicopter carriers.

"We are open to cooperation, but we realize that many of our partners have certain legal frameworks to abide by. We are not losing contacts or shutting doors. We believe it is wrong to discontinue any contacts," he said.
