MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. Explosion in one of the mosques in the city of Abha, Saudi Arabia, has provided fresh evidence the wave of terrorism is sweeping the region of the Middle East, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
A powerful bomb went off in the mosque of the Interior Ministry’s special forces in the city of Abha (the administrative centre of Asir province) in the southwest of Saudi Arabia. Thirteen people were killed and another nine were injured. The attack was committed by a suicide bomber.
"The Abha bombing is yet another evidence the wave of terrorism triggered by extremist organizations is sweeping the region of the Middle East," the Russian Foreign Ministry said. "Only concerted action by countries of the region and the entire international community can overpower this ill."
"For its part, Russia is prepared to extend the necessary assistance to Saudi Arabia in the struggle against terrorism."
