Two civilians killed in shelling of Gorlovka by Ukrainian forces — administration

Administration head Roman Khramenkov also said that two power lines were damaged in the shelling

MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. Two civilians have been killed in shellings by Ukrainian forces in the town of Gorlovka, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) emergencies ministry told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

"DPR emergencies ministry’s rescuers found a body of a man born in 1932 when they arrived at the site of shelling in the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka," the ministry said adding that "the man died from shrapnel wounds that he received when a shell hit near the house."

Donetsk News Agency earlier reported that another civilian, aged 57, died in Gorlovka in shelling by the Ukrainian forces. Administration head Roman Khramenkov also said that two power lines were damaged in the shelling.

Minsk agreements on Ukraine

Ceasefire is envisaged by the Minsk agreements on Ukraine. The Minsk accords were signed on February 12, after negotiations in the so-called "Normandy format" in the Belarusian capital Minsk, bringing together Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

The Minsk accords also envisage weaponry withdrawal, prisoner exchange, local elections in Donbas, constitutional reform in Ukraine and establishing working sub-groups on security, political, economy and humanitarian components of the Minsk accords.

The Ukrainian forces and the self-defense forces of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics have repeatedly accused each other of violating ceasefire and other points of the Minsk agreements.
