Over 100 miners saved from burning mine in east Ukraine — Russian ministry

A fire broke out at a depth of 680 meters at the Kalinovo-Vostochnaya mine in Makeyevka

MOSCOW, July 30 /TASS/. Rescuers have saved 103 miners from a burning mine in the town of Makeyevka, a source at the Emergencies Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Thursday.

"A fire broke out at a depth of 680 meters at the Kalinovo-Vostochnaya mine in Makeyevka. One hundred and three miners have been raised to surface. Four units of the Emergencies Ministry mine rescuers are fighting to suppress the fire," the Donetsk News Agency quoted the source as saying.

The fire causes and the size of the fire zone are unknown. No casualties have been reported.
